Lovebabybean is named after our grandson, Babybean, as this was his name during pregnancy.  The intention of the website was to sell baby diapers and other baby supplies, however, that did not go according to plan.  Now, the focus of lovebabybean is using coloring books to reach out to God’s charities.  (Please use paypal when checking out.)

I am reminded that we are human be-ings and not human do-ers.  When we humans do-ers have a plan that is solely done under our own power, God waits patiently for us to throw up our hands and call out to Him.  Rarely, does it happen that our designs work according to our plan.  My whole life has not gone according to plan because I ignored God’s plan.  Faith in God was everything to my mom and dad.  From their example, I learned how important faith is in the lives of those people who lean on God.  My dad was Methodist and mom a Christian Scientist, which is why my beliefs became confused.  Mom had the monopoly on the children going to her church.  Growing up in Christian Science, I was taught that sin, disease, satan, and hell are not real.  I was taught to go to God to the text of Christian Science instead of studying the Bible for myself. Galatians 1:8-9

For more than fifty years, I tried to chisel out a life that I thought included God, but always something was missing.  I would talk to God from time to time, but not daily.  In 2013, I became anxious and depressed when I began a doom & gloom spiral as I was watching videos about the New World Order (satan’s agenda).  This went on for two years until I felt God say, “I AM in control!” 

In the summer of 2017, I was telling Jesus (complaining really) that He wasn’t much fun. This actually violates Commandment II which says I am not to create a god to suit myself. I liked going to the casino to play the slot machines and was feeling convicted.  I told him that someday when I retired, I would make a comic book for Him which would be fun.  Later, when I started studying the bible, Holy Spirit let me know that playing the slots was not a bad thing as long as my main focus remained on Him. After doing a study on the Ten Commandments, I realized life is a balancing act and to always remember Commandment Two, “thou shalt have NO other gods before me” - that is Truth. I used to always feel guilty about something, but feeling guilty is a lie from the deceiver (satan) as God does not want me feeling that way.  Funny thing is now I really don’t have the desire to go to the casinos. Just know we are all "works" in progress!

January 2018, I quit my job at the post office and was delighted to learn I was eligible for an annuity that covered medical insurance. What a blessing!  In earnest, I began to be God led.  Listening to different sermons, I heard someone say, “Jesus did not come to earth so that everyone could have their own brand of religion” resonated with my soul.  They advocate studying the bible through the Holy Spirit (yep, that is what was missing!) and every day since, I glean a “nugget” of Truth.

March 2018, my first nugget of Truth was saying the “sinner’s prayer” which led me to being born again. Meaning, I repent of my sins, rely & believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and He bore my sins on the cross.

At some point that spring, Holy Spirit reminded me of the comic book idea and because of limited funds, I felt He said let’s do a coloring book. “RiRi’s Musings in the Gospel of Mark Coloring Book” was born.  It has 60 pages of coloring opportunities with seven pages devoted to RiRi’s questions about God. It captures Jesus’ baptism, his earthly ministry, his betrayal, his death on the cross, and his resurrection. The mission is to get the coloring books into the hands of children with the hope that the unbelieving parent reads to the child and they begin to have their own questions.

When I started reading the bible, I realized my “treasure” lay in heaven.  With God’s help, I understand the only thing that matters in this world is that we tell others about Jesus’ saving grace.  All we need to do to have our vices blotted out by His grace, is to repent of our sins, believe in Him, and accept Him as our protector.

My hope is that this edifies your soul and encourages you to get your daily nuggets of Truth and to pass “RiRi” on to others who may not yet know Jesus.
